“Dr. Moor met my needs and is very professional. God has given him a great talent. He is friendly, explains procedures, takes times with you. My outcome was great. A great doctor.”
The Arm Lift, also called Brachioplasty, is a surgical procedure to remove the excess skin from under the arm. The skin of the upper arm may be droopy, sagging and deflated. Sometimes the Patient complains of the arms being loose and full of excess skin and fat. After weight loss or bariatric surgery, the upper arms from the axilla (or arm pit) to the elbow may be ‘bat wing like’ in appearance. This condition may influence your choice of clothing or you may just be the person who has fat arms and has difficulties finding tops that fit properly. Dr. M. Eugene Moor can give you an Arm Lift which may be the solution to the problem.
The trade off is a visible scar that may extend from the axilla to the elbow. This scar usually becomes less noticeable and visible over time.
The number of brachioplasties performed at ALABAMA PLASTIC SURGERY over the last few years has significantly increased. Women are willing to accept the scar in order to have a more pleasing shape and contour of the arms and to also enjoy expanded fashion choices.
During surgery, Dr. Moor removes the skin and fat of the upper portion of the arm from the axilla to the elbow. Liposuction of the arm may also be chosen in together with the brachioplasty, to give a more refined look. The scar may be placed on the medial arm (inside of the arm) or the posterior arm (the back of the arm) depending whether or not other procedures are done in conjunction with the brachioplasty and according to individual patient preference.
This brachioplasty surgery is done at Brookwood Medical Center or at Grandview Medical Center. After the completion a surgical dressing will be applied and small drainage tubes will be placed under the skin which will be removed in two to five days.
